Speech notes

From hobo Keegan AGAIN!!! Steven should do this instead of me, but I actually wrote the notes.

-Poor delivery but good speech = 13 or 14 out of 20
-Know what you are saying.
-Practice what you are going to say.
-HELP EACH OTHER
-Make sure techniques convey content that gives meaning
-Finish four days before (should of posted this eariler ><)
-TYPE IT!!!!
-Think about orginality and appeal. PURPOSE!?!?!?!
-NOT AN ESSAY ITS A SPEECH
-KNOW your audience, REMEMBER your audience, TALK TO your audience
-INTRODUCTION AND CONCLUSION ARE VERY IMPORTANT
-Make sure your conclusion links to your introduction
-You can use a quote to start and end a speech BUT make sure they are in BOTH
-Make sure the quote is relevant
-YOUR audience are IDIOTS
-Every time you speech, it is NOT the same but it will still have the same STRUCTURE
-Your speech does not have to be exactly like your transcript
-Do not change your speech too much compare to your transcript, PARAGRAPH=NO, Senctence=YES
-USE BLOODY INCLUSIVE NOUNS!!!!!
-Palm care = HAND CARDS
-Cardboard behind paper is a good idea (don't be like me and use waste paper :P)
-NUMBERED
-Try to use only dot points (too advance and late for that)
-Highlight keywords to be EMPHASISED
-When you present your speech, HIGHLIGHTED words may be the only thing you remember
-ADD a colour card or something to remind you to do something (LOOK UP MORE, SPEECH SLOWER, SAY NOT READ etc.)
-Enthusiasm is a MUST (be happy when you speak =p)
-FEEL passionate about what you are saying (CONFIDENCE)
-Don't write something you think is funny or exciting but it isn't (JOKES) unless you are funny
-REMEMBER PACE, TONE, VOLUME <---- Vary them
-SERIOUS=SLOW EXCITED=FAST
-Control your audience, Play your audience, use [pause]s
-PAUSES let your audience be absorbed into it
-Your audience are your friend, they want you to do well (WORKED IN YEAR 11 when we actually had friends in the midst of everything >< teachers as friends................ hmm)
-Cards in ONE hand, two hands look like a wall or barrier
-BE NATURAL
-NO PROPS
-START with only LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
-NEVER end with THANK YOU
-FINSIH without FADING into your seat, STAND FIRM for a few seconds before leaving
-STAY FOCUS
-LOOK AT EVERYONE (ie both teachers)
-Your EYE CONTACT needs to be natural (used to be looking around the room but since we only have two teachers as an audience)
-EYEBALL those who aren't listening (would be funny against SPROULE OR KEENGAN :P)
-EYEBALL SPROULE OR KEENGAN IF YOU HAVE THEM
-The tip above is a joke :P
-LEGS are shoulder width apart
-You CAN move a bit... LIKE YOUR KNEES

MY TIPS ;)
-Never move your feet... shuffling of feet shows you are scared...
-You must look at the audience when you pause
-Look at audience when you finish
-Look at audience when you talking, When you finish your sentence, then you look down, BETTER EFFECT, just do it most of the time
-FACIAL EXPRESSION <----- BUT be NATURAL
-LEAVE AN EMOTIONAL IMPACT
-INCLUSIVE language EVERY paragraph at LEAST

HEY I GOT 20/20 for my speech last year and these helped

HOPE ITS NOT TOO LATE, most of these WILL help your delivery instead :P you should be finished by NOW :P

PEACE AND GOD BLESS
Chris
