final day of seminars, and final day of ext2 for the term.
i'm not much in a reflecty mood right now.. coz i'm tired. i've been working on my ext2 a lot this week.
more looking at past works and other stimulating texts. and i also started writing my script, based on what i had learned ont hat script writing website.
oh but today i was directed to talk to some people at catholic universities, since i wanna enquire about catholic stuff. stuff like taht, and looking up interpretations of the bible. also i've got my actors it hink, just need to check about setting and one more actor..
i'll just takeabout today's seminars since i can't think of what to talk about.
frame story - basically a story within a story. different to like a flashback or whatever, coz the inner story can be a story on its own with no connection to the outside story, but it can be symbolic within that story or whatnot.
magical realism - different to fantasy, or stories where the human protagonist enters the fantasy world. fantasy tends to create whole new worlds etc in depth, and they go for long. whereas magical realism takes reality and fantasy invades it. the story is still realistic otherwise, and the "magical" part might be considered like a hallucination or something.
ambiguity - this was my seminar. talking about how an expression can be interpreted in obscure or multiple ways. different interpretations of the same word or phrase for example, or not being specific (ie. it can be anything) segmantic ambiguity basically, has many many possibilities.
humour in speeches - there's many forms, they're all in ext2 folder. it is used to appeal to audience, but isn't always necessary. it can be used to leave an impression etc.
stream of conciousness - moreorless a rant, just writing about what's going on in the mind. it's like first-person narration but focusing on the mind and what's going on inside rather than events happening outside.
it's a little late to be doing my first draft script now, but i'm just glad i started. i know that i can film during the holidays though, i know i can. i've been pressed for time before, this is nothing. i still have time to get up.
