ag (0216) - Lettuce: cultivation

few notes about cultivation, we arleady know what's sustainable and what's not.

the traditional way of cultivating involves cultivating the soil like 3 or 4 times. but in more recent times, its simply zero till or minimum till. basically the ground is just cultivated once, and then sprayed with herbicide/pesticide. and later, seeds are sown.

that's the general geist of it. coz overcultivating can break up soil structure, making soil more easily eroded, also overploughing leads to plough pan, an inpenetratable layer of soil at subsoil level.
